The Kitchen’s Summer Pop Up Pizza Restaurant – The Smoke Shack

By popular demand, Bertha is being fired up on Saturdays from this week, as well as Fridays and Sundays. And as a special treat – we will be serving pizzas all day on Bank Holiday Monday too!
They aren’t just your ordinary kind of pizza – the dough is made from scratch using the finest Italian flour and proved and kneaded ready to be popped in the hot mouth of Big Bertha. And last weekend we made a group gluten free bases. Tomato sauce is made with love and care by the Kitchen Team, using fresh tomatoes and herbs from the Kitchen Garden.
Toppings are carefully selected, depending on the seasons – freshly picked Wild Garlic Pesto has been a hit on top with Buffalo Mozzarella, throughout this month. Everyone is enjoying watching their supper prepared before their eyes and a few minutes in Big Bertha and they come out with a crisp base and a hot unctuous topping – some like it topped with homemade chilli oil for a bit of a kick. Big Bertha’s pizzas are devoured by young and older customers. Pizza loves adore them and pizza haters are being converted, because this is the way a pizza should be prepared and cooked – a authentic taste of Italy in the shire.
So it is no wonder that our perfect pizzas have been flying out – even in the occasional pizza box and delivered in Farnborough.
